Innovative antibody therapies in development
Ertumaxomab
Ertumaxomab is a trifunctional antibody targeting tumor cells via the epidermial growth factor receptor Her2/neu expressed on their cell membrane. Her2/ neu can be expressed by different tumors, such as breast cancer and gastric cancer. With its three different binding sites, ertumaxomab binds in parallel to specific surface antigens on different immune cells resulting in a complex immunoreaction against tumor cells and finally their elimination.
FBT-A05
FBT-A05 is at trifunctional antibody specifically binding to the surface antigen CD20 expressed on normal and malignant B lymphocytes. CD20 is found on cells of most lymphomas and of some leukemias. With its 3 binding sites FBTA05 binds in parallel to different cells of the immune system. The resulting complex immunoreaction leads to a targeted killing of the tumor cells.
