St. Wendel plant In St. Wendel, approx. 1,700 Fresenius Medical Care employees develop and manufacture products for dialysis. An advanced degree of automation ensures the highest quality for the production of dialyzers (artificial kidneys).

Dialysis treatment In (hemo)dialysis, the blood is cleansed outside the body using a special filter called a “dialyzer”. About three treatments of three to six hours each are required every week.
